VRSC Dispensary : Ramgarh, Kumaon

VRSC ran a dispensary in Ramgarh, Uttarakhand, from 1996 till 2005, with a qualified MBBS doctor, mostly free medicines and a token fee of Rs.2/- (attendance 25-30 per day) Basic medicines were available only at the local grocer shop until this dispensary was started.

Dr.A.B.Ghosh personally conducted public meetings of the local populace to increase awareness of (a) health (b) sanitation (c) personal hygiene (d) vaccinations and (e) the importance of pre & post natal care. Dr.Ghosh also organised annual gynaecological & eye camps to provide specialist medical care to the people of the locality and remote villages around Ramgarh,

where medical facilities were not available.

Annual Prize Distribution

in the Government Primary School, Malla Ramgarh, Kumaon

From 2001 till 2003, VRSC conducted an annual prize distribution in the school mentioned above, along with giving copy books and stationery to each student.. The school, from Class 6 to Class 10, has about a 100 children from the nearby villages. A 1000 books were donated to the school

VRSC Dispensary : Shalimar Bagh, New Delhi

VRSC opened a charitable dispensary in the premises of Jaspal Kaur Public School,

Shalimar Bagh, in 2001 and continues to run it with a qualified MBBS Doctor,

with a daily attendance of 45-50 persons.

Vivekananda Pathshala, New Delhi

In 2001, in collaboration with Jaspal Kaur Public School, Shalimar Bagh, VRSC initiated a free schooling and activity programme for 200 children and women of nearby slums, three afternoon each week. On the 14th of January 2007, the Pathshala celebrated the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, showcasing the wonderful talent of its students by staging song & dance performances by the children, and a play on Vivekananda's life, enacting a scene from the Parliament of Religions, held in Chicago in 1893. Many prizes, including blankets, school bags, copy books and stationery, were presented to all the students of this humble school.

was the Guest of Honour, and Shri Surjit Singh, chief patron VRSC, was the Chief Guest.

Vivekananda Pathshala makes a short video - Netaji -  on Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose's life, to celebrate his 111th birth Anniversary in Jan 2008.

Working with the children of the Vivekananda pathshala, VRSC produced a short video, based on the play - Subhash - written by Dr.A.B.Ghosh. Supervised by Ashim Ghosh, this video was made possible by Ashwani Kumar and his team, and the remarkable acting efforts of the students of Vivekananda Pathshala. This video was screened publicly and in a few schools with great success and appreciation of the children's efforts.

Public Health Awareness Programmes

Initiated by Dr.A.B.Ghosh, VRSC continues to conduct a series of health awareness programmes, aimed at the general public as well as geriatric groups, in Shalimar Bagh, New Delhi.

The programmes feature prominent medical specialists from New Delhi, in talks on topics ranging from General health to Orthopaedic well being.

JAL GHOSHNA(C)

VRSC undertook a unique research project conducted in Delhi, to provide bacteria free/sterile drinking water cheaper and more efficiently than boiling, while saving time & energy.

Shabdkoshish(C)

VRSC is supporting and promoting a new game system - Shabdkoshish(C) -  designed to awaken and encourage an active interest and discussion in the Hindi language and improve spelling and vocabulary. VRSC intends to introduce this system with inter-school competitions and hopes for it to build into a television show. Shabdkoshish(C) is copyrighted to Ashim Ghosh.
